Now, now, everyone has different taste in movies. Most people see "Jet Li" and are like "whizbang! Let's go." |
I'm a big Jet Li fan; you can't beat his Once Upon a Time in China series, and God knows his version of The Chinese Connection is much better than Bruce Lee's. But The One certainly isn't on par with his better Hong Kong films, nor even his first two American ones. (Though I will grant that Kiss of the Dragon did suck something awful as well.) |

Yeah, The One blew. Thank god that was a renter. And I was on painkillers recovering from surgery.
As for 28 Days Later, it wasn't so much scary as it was just disturbing. The eye gouging scene was totally unnecessary. As a fan of the genre though, it was good enough for me to buy when it came out last year.
However, Once Upon A Time In China? Good fights, but is better watched while on mute unfortunately. Mr. Li is certainly a bad-ass, but I wasn't really a big fan of OUTIC. |

28 Days Later could have been much cooler than it was. I watched the "disturbing alternate endings" and they weren't disturbing at all. Although one was pretty cool, as it had never been filmed and it was just two guys reading script to storyboard pictures. The storyboard was cool.
Anywho. Don't you people know better now than to completely forget about anything any movie critic has to say? See, here's the differnece between us and movie critics. We go to see a movie for fun / entertainment. They go to a movie expecting a fucking piece of art.
Once Upon a Time in China is awesome. There was this one scene where he was fighting some other Kung Fu master .. in a barn .. and they were jumping around and attacking each other on all these ladders. Man. That owned. |

Critics said Star Wars sucked. To hell with critics. Techhouse viewers are about keepin' it real.
As for Mr. Li, I was always kind of partial to Fist of Legend. I'll give the Barn Scene in OUTIC props. That was cool. But like I said, dialog need not apply. |

Like I said, it's much better than Bruce Lee's version. (Though, a point of interest is that Bruce Lee introduced the nunchaku to the martial arts film world in the original.) |

For Kung Fu zombies, I direct you towards a Japanese flick by the name of Versus. What did this movie teach me? Zombies can fire handguns. Just not very well. |

Better or worse than a storm trooper? |

I think one of the main characters actually does take a bullet from a zombie. If that's the case, then yes, zombies can outshoot storm troopers. |

You know, Stormtroopers have a few confirmed kills in Episode IV. If any zombies (the standard kind, there are more advanced zombies as well in Versus as the plot... um, goes on) made their marks, I didn't see it (or don't remember it).
I think it would be a draw. They'd shoot each other simultaneously and die. But if that happened in the Forest of Ressurection like in Versus, then you get Zombie Stormtroopers. And that's hella cool. |
