While I already new Manga was big in Japan, I was supprised to learn just how prevasive it has become throughout the culture in general. As the radio program -The World- explained. The earliest forms were government propagand/civilian organization pamphlets designed to build love for the Empire or just show how to kick American GI's in the nuts.
Now days businesses often publish there training manuals in Manga form, the military briefs troops with manga, one company even keeps its employes both informed and entertained with the continuing adventures of the "bug eyed" superhero "Mr. Annual Report". Could you imagine getting notes for a class, or your bank statement as Manga? Im sure someone here has been to Japan, if you can add anything I'd love to here it.
