weekends

So does anyone else feel like all of their weekends have been hijacked?

I remember back fondly to when I actually had to think up things to do on the weekends- either that or sit around bored. I can't remember the last time I actually had a weekend where there wasn't something pre-planned or something that I was required to do- not that I don't love going to parties and stuff. you all having the same vanishing act from free time?

My free weekends disappeared after I got a full-time job. The free time I lost during the week -- coupled with the required time with the gf/wife for her weekend/week things -- wholly gobbles up my free time.

Also, karate grabbed a lot of my free time during the week; where otherwise I would be wasting it on tv, whores, and beer.

i have not had normal weekends since college. since the day i gradutaed i have had jobs on the weekend. that's right, jobs, plural. i know how ya feel.

Well if you think about it, lots of us have had dissapointments where we can't get together and do the activities we used to do. We've migrated to planning. Either people are tired from getting their souls sucked out on a daily basis, or they're just already planning stuff at that time. For me, I'm signed up for soccer on Sundays, and I've probably missed as many games as I've made so far this fall, and I pay for the privilege.
I know for myself I've already got plans into 2008, and I don't just mean January. It doesn't help that everyone and their brother is getting married, and it's only going to get worse as people decide to spawn a kid or four.

My problem is that I lament about wanting a free weekend; but when it looks like I have one coming up, my wife and I end up filling it with random shit like going to look at cars, "finally going to Ikea" (ugh), starting major house projects, or her dragging me shopping.
