Karate demo angst.

So whenever I'm going to be in a karate demo, they don't let me break cement. Bah. I so could. But they always say "no, we're bitchasses." And then there's this form that we have to do while talking about who we are and what we do. It's like we're power rangers, but without the power. *sigh* Shoot me.

Have you ever performed this breaking cement? and would you be willing to outside of a karate demo?

Breaking cement is strangely unimpressive after you've done it once. Same thing for boards and bricks.

So wait, you're doing a form and introducing yourself at the same time? "Hi... My... name IS...... UTY..... YAAAA!" That's a little strange. What's up with that?

And where is this demo? Is cool stuff happening in it? Would I want to watch it?

So I guess this form is like a script you will read from?
Just for kicks, read your answers v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y, to give the impresion that you didn't write it.
Example:
My name is oottay (Whisper to someone behind you "Is that right?")

I guess breaking things could get a little passe once you've learned how to do it.

They get unimpressive after you do it, because it's easy. 10 year old children can break the boards that I do. It's really not that hard at all. Bricks are harder, but 13 year olds can manage those.

I've never broken cement before and perhaps they won't let me do it because they don't want me to break my foot. I know for a fact that I have the power to do it though. I think it's incredibly lame though, for someone who's 6'3 and 235 lbs to break the same board as an eight year old girl.

Everyone in the demo says the same thing at the same time while doing this demo, and it's not nearly as cool as it could be if you ask me. It's like "We are the special winning attitude team! blah blah blah." I want to say "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" instead but I think I'd end up with a broken jaw afterwards.

I don't think that this is going to be the best demo ever. As far as I know, myself and two of my peers will be the only ones demo'ing that are 18 or over. We've had really cool demos in the past and if I'm ever in one of those I will certainly let ya'll know about it.

No, but it really hurts if someone throws a board, frisbee style, at your head.

Boards can hurt like hell if you hit 'em wrong and don't break them. Higher incidence rate as more boards are added, of course.

I'm not sure my hand has healed from the last time they had me break the blocks...the doctor says there isnt a break...maybe its in my head

Hey, did any of you ever see that episode of the old Batman series (Yeah Adam West!!) where Catwoman kidnaps some famous guy by first stealing his voice, because "karate doesn't work if you can't yell"?
