This may be the greatest band ever!!!!! Imagine Freddy Mercury singing for Iron Maiden. Those of you who love 80's metal- you must get this album.

The Darkness Rock

It's terribly great in that 'oh my god it's terrible, it's great' sorta way.

yeah, eli, I gotta admit, you're a little off your rocker (hee hee) on this one... the music content of these guys' songs is good, but terribly outweighed by their incessant yodeling.

I hope you're referring to Mercury's patent bizarreness (anyone who has seen the video for "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" or knows the lyrics to "Bohemian Rhapsody" knows what I'm talking about), because this guy has nowhere near the vocal talent.

I'm just totally shocked that the record companies allowed that hair and Guitar solo's in the same album. I have no clue how he can sing that high, but I don't care, because he has great hair. This guy is truly my hero. I just want to rock as hard as he does, is that so wrong?

Hey, just thought I'd mention (I'm sure Eli will get a kick out of this)

Kerrie and I went to a Styx show last Saturday (Peter Frampton rocked out too, but that's incidental). The show totally kicked ass, and the drummer was wearing a The Darkness t-shirt.

btw, live Styx totally rocked. They had ELP-quality keyboard riffs, Metalica-quality guitar riffs, ...and The Darkness-quality singing! (: (Not to mention Moody Blues or Queen-quality DRAMA.)

Is Dennis DeYoung touring with them or not?

I don't think Dennis DeYoung has toured with Sytx since he and Tommy Shaw split to do solo work in 1984. I'm not sure, though. We saw Tommy Shaw, James Young, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, and Ricky Phillips.

Whoa, I forgot that Lawrence Gowan was in Styx. I still remember when he did "Strange Animal" on his solo album.
