Allright. Maddox gave this movie one hell of a good review so I think I'm going to see it. Wink

I hanv't. Actually, my original plan was to rent it and have a movie night instead of paying $8 for a ticket, $4 for soda, and $5 for popcorn -- thus adhering to the original's anticommercialistic theme.

The original was pretty damned good. It still creeps me the hell out. I'm trying to get out to see the new one but things keep coming up... like HORDES OF THE UNDEAD! BRAINS!

Secret to Decent movie watching

Go to matinee if you decide to pay money.
Bring own soda.
Bring own food: popcorn, candy, lasagne, what have you

if you experience isn't what you expected it to be, bitch to a manager and get a free pass for another movie, which you can use at night time.

I have done that. Actually I enjoyed the movie, it just lost sound for 30 minutes where they explained the plot.

Plot? What is this "plot" you speak of?

Do you remember "The One" with Jet Lee. Well like 30 of us got together to go see this movie. We took up a whole row and like 3 other seats. At the part were they start to explain the multiverse the sound cuts out. So we started to fill it in. Then later when they explain it again. It cuts out again. In the end we maybe heard 15 to 20 lines of actual coversation out of the 40 to 45 lines in the whole movie.

Well, let me tell you Scott, "The One" was a really good idea executed in such a way as to make Jet Li seem boring. And that is a feat of Herculean proportions as Jet Li is known in some circles as "The Man." In the good way, not the big brother man.

Why would anyone admit to having paid to see that in the theatres? The previews made it look almost as stupid as it was.

Now, now, everyone has different taste in movies. Most people see "Jet Li" and are like "whizbang! Let's go." You may not have that disposition, but you are surely interested in seeing movies that no one else is. The epic tale of a calculator that comes to age, secretly hating the math problems its user forces it to do for example. Wink

Er, umm, it was Jet Li actually. Plus, nothing else was playing that was interesting and we all wanted to go out. So we did.

I fell asleep watching "The One". Which is sad because I managed to stay awake through "Matrix: Reloaded" and "Matrix: Revolutions" and those were on par with "The One". Though not nearly as bad as either Tomb Raider movie. When I see Angelina Jolie I'm demanding my money back and asking her to stop acting and get where she belongs: porn.

I read a review of this Dawn of the Dead movie that said 28 Days Later was better. Considering I've had scarier trips to the toilet than that 28 Days Later movie, I'll pass on seeing something worse.
