Okay... I have been kicking this idea around for a while.

My criteria for this category is that, when you hear the song, you automatically think of a movie or a certain scene in that movie (to be more specific).

For example:
"Stuck in the Middle With You" will forever be linked to Michael Madsen's Reservoir Dogs torture sequence.
    and
"Moving in Stereo" will always remind me of Phoebe Cates' exiting of the pool in Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Keeping those in mind, the songs disqualified from this category are the "Theme" songs like anything by John Williams because those are specially crafted for the movie they appear in. I'm talking about songs you'd hear on the radio or on a regular album.

It doesn't matter how bad the song OR the movie. If they are linked in your head, something stuck.

"it must have been love" or (duh) "pretty woman" for the movie Pretty Woman. i always think about those two scenes, her riding away in the limo and her walking down rodeo drive when i hear those songs.

and also disqualified, read the question dumbass.

Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't Fear the Reaper' is forever attached to Miracle in my mind now. Not only because it's in the bar scene of the movie, but it was also in the trailer which I watched about 800 million times.

Never saw the movie Miracle, but "Don't Fear the Reaper" brings up memories of Stephen King's The Stand mini-series on ABC. Great opening...

Here are a few, I'll add more later:

"Bohemian Rhapsody" : Wayne's World.

Eric Clapton's cover of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door": The final scene in Lethal Weapon 2. (Note that while Knockin' on Heaven's Door was specifically written for a movie, it was not written for THAT movie.)

"Born to be Wild": Easy Rider

"Gangsta's Paradise": Dangerous Minds

"Under Pressure": Grosse Pointe Blank

"Stairway to Heaven": Again, Wayne's World.

Lowrider, by WAR => Gone in 60 Seconds. (which is apparently "gone" from the commercial soundtrack for the movie, for some reason...)

Did The Matrix even have a theme song? I don't remember one... unless you're talking about the Clubbed to Death [Kurayamino Mix] by Rob D., which was actually the theme song to a French movie called... Clubbed to Death. And which was even then just a remake of one of the Enigma Variations by Elgar. (first performed in 1899...)
