I know for a fact the movie of which you speak is "Prayer of the Rollerboys", however, the song wasn't so easy. I had to cheat and look that up ...

IMDB says: "Head Like A Hole" by NIN.

more research must be done.

interesting...... not the one I was thinking of. I'll have to look it up myself... Though I think that NIN is better than the cheesy song I was thinking of at the time....

Prayer of the Rollerboys; that was a Corey Haim movie, right?

Keeping those in mind, the songs disqualified from this category are the "Theme" songs like anything by John Williams because those are specially crafted for the movie they appear in.

No one pays attention in this topsy-turvy world of ours...

Wow, the only thing clever Stoker has every contributed to this forum is a banner he lifted from somewhere. I award you no points, and may God* have mercy on your soul.

I can't say with any certainty that it was written for any specific movie, but I know that it was in at least 1 other movie as well. That movie was The Secret of My Success with Michael J. Fox and Helen "I was in Supergirl... no, really... I was" Slater.

It doesn't matter though... the whole basic criteria of this thread was that this song, whenever and wherever you hear it, makes you think of a specific scene/movie. The only rule was that song couldn't be written specifically FOR that movie (such as themes by John Williams).

Whenever my dad hears the Bette Midler song "Wind Beneath My Wings" he thinks of the movie "Beaches" and gets misty eyed. But I think that song was written specifically for that movie, so: DISQUALIFIED or whatever. But it's still kinda cute.

Whenever I hear Hall & Oats' "Maneater" I think of when they did that on the Muppet Show, they had a puppet shark "swimming" back and forth after puppet people. Funny stuff.
