So, with the current thread about Scary Movie 2 going about, it kinda hit me... What sequels just were complete wastes of time? I'm not going to throw ANY restrictions on this one save one: It has to be a DIRECT sequel to a movie (Not like Dangerous Creatures was a pseudo-sequel to A Fish Called Wanda or anything like that). Also, sequels to sequels DO count as horrible mistakes.

My first suggestion to a movie that should never have existed:
The Crow: City of Angels.

Um, no... Endgame was Highlander 4.

Highlander I : (1986)

Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)
aka "Highlander - Le retour"
aka "Highlander II: The Renegade Version"

Highlander III: The Sorcerer (1994)
aka "Highlander 3: The Final Conflict"
aka "Highlander: The Final Dimension"
aka "Highlander: The Magician"
aka "Highlander III"

Highlander: Endgame (2000)
aka "Highlander: A New Order"
aka "Highlander IV"
aka "Highlander IV: World Without End"
aka "Highlander 4: The Search for Connor"

I'm going to have to kinda-sorta disagree with the assertion they shouldn't have made a sequel to The Crow. And here's why: it didn't start out as a movie. Apparently there's a shitload of Crow novels, written by different authors, many of which are quite good. Given that, I do think it's possible to make another good Crow movie. The secret is not trying to tie it in with any of the previous entries in the series. That's where they went wrong. Had they done it stand-alone it could have been great.

Oh, and there is a giddy feeling I get when I see the chick who played the original yellow Power Ranger get killed.

I can't honestly agree or disagree about The Crow: City of Angels being a good movie or not. I loved the first movie so much that I built up the sequel in my head to disgusting propotions and then was shattered when it absolutely sucked donkey-cock in regards to my memories about the first one.

So would I have liked it had I not seen the first one? I don't know. I can't really separate them.

I'm saying you would have liked it if they hadn't tried to link the story in the second one with the story in the first one.

Ok, first of all:

Highlander - I love Christopher Lambert, but it's a cheezy movie. Fun with swords, yeah, but cheese nonetheless. (The American-Swiss guy is the Scot, and the Scot is the Egyptian Spaniard? I don't think so.) The really great part about it was that Queen did the soundtrack.

Highlander 2 - All versions, (both Renegade and original) sucked.

Highlander 3 - Better than 2, should've been a sequel to the original.

Highlander 4 - What the fuck. I wanted my money back, and I'm a huge fan of the series. Only upside was Donnie Yen fighting with the kwan-do.

Second of all:
The Crow - Fairly decent, dark movie.

The Crow: City of Angels - I think I saw it once, but not recently enough to remember it.

The Crow: Salvation - Definitely haven't seen it; it was straight-to-video if memory serves.

The Crow: Wicked Prayer - When it comes out, I plan to see it, not for Edward Furlong as the Crow, but for David Boreanaz as the bad guy. He plays a great bad guy.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that I can't extricate the first from the second due to the affinity for that character. Yeah, maybe if they hadn't brought "Grown-Up Sarah" into the second story, I might have said "Well maybe I can live with this", but you're right: They fucked up.

I won't belabour my thoughts on the first movie any longer, nor the second since that's pretty clear... I haven't seen the third (Salvation), but I think it's got Kirsten Dunst in it and I HAD the soundtrack (fucking car-stereo theives) which was awesome.

I completely forgot that Boreanez was gonna be the heavy in the next one, so I'm jazzed to see that. He rocked while playing Angelus.

Candyman 2 sucked ass.

Never saw the first, but a guy asked me out to go see that one, maybe he was hoping I'd cower on his shoulder... turned out he was scard of bees. Guess it backfired on him.

Candyman 1 sucked ass too from what I remember. Just some creepy looking guy with a bee fetish. Boring.

Very. And a pretty bad master-slave love story. I remember watching it at 3 am in HS so I could see boobies and not get in trouble.

How about Conan: the Destroyer? Gotta love Grace Jones...
