It's an interesting game. I thought Brian might like to know it includes a puzzle fighter ... with super deformed fatalities at the end of the fight.

I think you mean Gamespot.

Anyway ... I think I will write a review for this after I've put in about 20 hours of gameplay. (And after I finish up my in progress Shadow Hearts 2 review of course.)

I would not call it a big ball of suck, although I will say that it's downright pretentious expecting gamers to explore every inch of six dimensions with graphic quality on par with Summoner (very old) to unlock characters. I also think it's odd that supreme warriors from hell who have survived like five Mortal Kombats have nothing interesting to say.

Though I haven't played it yet, I still think it would better if it were "Mortal Kombat: Decepticons".

Save yourself the time and just get all the cheats for unlocking stuff in the quest mode. God. The quest mode blows and is a complete waste of time. It isn't even on par with adventure games that were released at the same time as the PS2, like Summoner. Yes. Summoner is actually better.

The thing about it is ... they populate the realms with all these Mortal Kombat characters to add legitimacy. But the characters have no real reason to be there. It's on par conceptually with a fanfic, not as if I have ever read one. Furthermore none of these characters ever have anything interesting to say. "I am Baraka the great demon of hell but I talk with this monotone voice." And the quests make no sense whatsoever in that the story progresses like this: accept a quest, then screw that guy over by accepting another quest, repeat until Shujinko slashes his wrists.

yeah the quest mode stinks
plus the puzzle mode is a little difficult to control
the chess game is kind of fun but I'm sure I'll tire of that soon too

I liked the puzzle fighter. It's kinda odd at first but after awhile you'll get the hang of it. The system for the special moves could have been way better ... seems most of the time when I can pull one off it is completely useless.

At least the main part of the game rules.
