I finally got seasons 1 and 2 of Family Guy on DVD, yay! Also picked up the Pink Panther box set which is a dream for a Peter Sellers fan, like I am.

Why would you pick up FG if it's on TV every day? Even TBS has it now

Because I have a weird, busy schedule and want to be able to watch it whenever I want to. I don't plan my life around tv schedules. Also, for the commentary, which is decent, although not as good as Futurama. And I hate commercials. Saves time and energy to just buy it.

I must also throw my support behind Bri. As someone who has both a complete set of Family Guy and Futurama. It freakin rocks to be able to go on a FG binge.

I agree with half of that... I can't stand Futurama, but I think The Family Guy is very close to rivaling The Simpsons...

Futurama is a great show and there are more than 3 seasons so you aren't always seeing something you've seen before. Family Guy is a good show but is rapidly getting on my nerves cause I've seen every episode like 20 times now.

Sorry dood... I think I feel so badly about Futurama because The Simpsons is my favorite animated comedy of all-time and I felt it severely lacked. Had I not put it up against The Simpsons in comparison, Futurama might have been really funny for me.

So, in essence, I never really gave Futurama a fair shake. Don't hate me.

I enjoy Futurama more than any of them. The Simpsons has about 6 good seasons and 7 seasons of 'OMG look at our special guest star! oh boy!'
I love the pure insane wackiness of Family Guy. The absolutely ludicrous flashbacks and everything else they get away with because they totally throw out the real world. Granted, I haven't seen it enough to get sick of it, yet.

I love the multiple levels of humor in Futurama, the things that Bender can get away with, the social commentary, the ribbing of every scifi movie or tv series ever made, etc. I think Futurama breaks new ground and that most of the viewing public is too dumb, uncultured and/or lazy to get it. It also got better with time, as opposed to the Simpsons which has just recycled it's last 4 or 5 seasons.

Yeah, the Simpsons hasn't been funny in about 9 seasons.
