Deer are cute! When you're looking at them through a scope.

I like to watch them play on the edge of our woods, far far far away from the road and my non-damaged vehicle.

I seem to remember something about Pennsylvania having some law where you must call in your road-killing of the deer, then you can throw it on the vehicle to take home.

Used to be a serious problem on Rt.80. Anyhow, big-game hunting license classes really dig up some wondrous laws that exist in the books.

Thankfully it was a small deer - so not worth the effort... even if I knew how to clean/prepare the body.

What the hell was that? A fun fact he threw out at the end?

I don't think it's legal to take home road-kill... even if it's your own doing. You're supposed to call state police, or fish-and-game, or someone, I think. They may allow you to take it on a case-by-case basis, though.

At least, I know that's the law in VT... not sure about other places.

Don't know if it's legal to remove roadkill, but I do have a roadkill cookbook. Seriously, it's a real cookbook. On how to cook what you run over.

But it's so much more satisfying to drive by every day and see what state of decomposition he's in. Twisted Evil

Well I know one of the reasons that you have to contact the game commission (or at least some sort of authority) is so that they can remove the roadkill and put it somewhere that the bears and other scavengers can get to it without endangering both themselves and other motorists. 200lb deer can't do nearly as much damage as 800lb brown bears.

While an 800 lb brown bear can do a lot more damage than the 1100 lb offensive line of Da Bears!

I've heard of a guy hitting a twelve pointer with his truck, throwing it in the back and using hunting tags to fake actually shooting it.

Moosen are worse than bears... spindly legs... really tall... fall right onto the windshield. not good.

Silly me, I thought your foot hurt from using one of these new computer footpedals:

Image
Three custom-programmable foot switches emulate Ctrl, Alt and Shift or any other keystrokes, sequences or even mouse clicks!
    Greater comfort, higher productivity
Lessen wrist stresses associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Although the idea of a kickplate mounted on the wall (mount higher if head butts are your preference) to perform CTRL-ALT-DEL or hard reset might be more useful! Mr. Green

steve, it's almost scary to hear why you kicked a deer to death, but at the same time it's not totally scary cause i can understand why.

still, avoid deer in the future. just a thought...
