The first cIV expansion is available and worth the thirty bucks it costs. In a nutshell: six new civs, a few new leaders for existing civs, lots of new music, civs now have unique buildings, three new civ traits, vassal states, great generals, two new military units, a new building, three new wonders, and a bunch of new scenarios. The scenarios are cool but they're all ancient/classical era games. That's the only drawback. On the plus side you can now play as the barbarians! I spent all weekend playing cIV because of this stuff. Smile

Good to hear the expansion is worth it. Hopefully I'll be able to get it within the next month or so.

Markley got me this for the holidays, and I must say, I'd never tried the scenarios before, but they are pretty interesting. I never had a conquest victory before, I'm always too fascinated by what I can accomplish domestically, and end up with diplomatic, space race or time. Usually space. I haven't implemented it yet for regular civ, but I was wondering if it made it seem more balanced or imbalanced?

Everything seems balanced. The new wonders and leader traits are nice. Also, the first to discover Fascism gets a free Great General.

I've been playing Civ lately as well, this time a fantasy mod called Fall From Heavan II. It's pretty damn cool.
