There are plans for a 3 film movie arc of Iron Man. The people who worked on 300 are putting together plans for "Watchman".

I'm definitely interested in around half of those, which is surprising for me. I will definitely see Transformers on July 4th, and no, I am not right in the head. 300 looks like a great popcorn movie.

Red Dragon: Great book, cult movie the first time, underrated the second time.
Silence of the Lambs: Great book, great movie.
Hannibal: Bad book, worse movie.
This one? I've heard NOTHING good about it. Count me as not holding my breath...

I'm feeling a HUGE letdown for people who have never read the book. I'd go into more details, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. Don't get me wrong... the book was great; I read it for a Summer Reading List back in 4th or 5th grade, but I'm 99% positive that it's going to piss a lot of people off.

Call it the Coyote Ugly syndrome...

300 should be a tech house event.

If I remember properly, Dead Rising should be out in movie form sometime this year. This was a great horror book. I'm honestly not sure what I should write because I could accidentally give up pivotal plot points. But ... anyway ... I am convinced that Dead Rising will be a great flick.

I saw the preview for 300 and I'm definitely going to see it. I'm all about amybe a 1/3 of these movies. Too bad a lot of them are sequels- but I'll probably see them anyway.

Shrek the Third will be out on June 18. I'm restating only because i didn't intend to put a smiley in there.

Maybe Bridge to Terabithia will piss me off but I'm willing to put in my $11 (yes that's NYC prices) in to support it anyway. It couldn't be worse than Battlefield Earth and thankfully someone else bought that ticket but I'll never get back the brain cells lost while watching it.

While making that list I counted 13 movies that are sequels or prequels. There could be more as I didn't actually check every movie of 2007 to see if it is an original (supposedly) or not. The lack of originalilty in Hollywood is probably best left to another thread and the inevitable Bruce Campbell sidebar.

Since Nomad: The Warrior is coming out in a limited release it may not hit a screen in Delware or even Philly. So if anyone wants to see it let me know as just about any movie will play somewhere in Manhattan. It could be a tech house event accompanied by things like a visit to Forbidden Planet (the comic shop), The Strang, The Natural History Museum and Hayden Planetarium, and drinking.

The filming style in 300 bothers me. FOCUS! TURN ON A DAMN LIGHT! I feel like the overproduction and CGI are going to take away from the movie; I guess we'll have to see.

The Dark is Rising series was one of my first ventures into fantasy as a kid, and I will go on a murdering rampage if they completely fuck it up. The books were awesome.

For those of you who already know the Terabithia story, but want to read about how the movie deals with it.

Lone Wolf and Cub - 2008

Creenplay by Darren Aronofsky; the director of PI and Requiem for a Dream. If He gets the directors chair I am very interested. Who am I kinding, I'll go see it if Kevin Costner directs.

Another fun fact, my good friend Scott just got hired to do a voiceover of an evil guy in this movie! He is freaking dancing in the streets. Razz

wow.

But wait I thought this was an english adaptation. What do you mean voiceover. There are tons of japanese versions. Part of The Baby Cart series. Some of those could use voiceovers mayhap. What gives?

300 Kicked ass. Might go see it again in IMAX after the initial fervor dies down. I wonder if all the blood spatter was programmed automatically by some algorithm or by hand. It would have surprised me to see some people in the credits listed as "splatter engineer". Very amusing was:
