Steve "Captain America" Rogers is killed by a sniper's bullet!

I'll freely admit that I'm not completely a comic geek, but I know the biggies. Why on Earth would they kill off Cap? I mean... damn. That sucks!

Maybe Marvel is making a sociopolitical statement? As if to say that classical America as we knew it from the movies and as children is dead.

HA.

There are still a number of story lines running with cap alive. Marvel haas given up, it seems, on the idead of a concordant universe.

They gave up on a single concordant universe over 15 years ago when they decided to publish multiple X titles with divergent story arcs.

That's what I think. So I wonder how long it will be before they need to make another 'bold' statement and they have to bring him back to kill him again...

Christ the man is over 80 years old. Its ok for him to get bumped off. Seems Marvel is finally learning a trick or 2 from DC. Bump off a main character for some press time.
