One of my roomates had an Adventures of Pete & Pete DVD and we've been watching episodes here and there. Even today it's a good show. I'm surprised by how good it is, actually. Most things from our childhood that we fondly remember as being awesome ... just aren't, once they've been revisisted.

Anyway, this observation leads me to a question: what other childhood media is just as good today as it was back in the day?

Hulk Hogan's Rock n' Wrestling. Truly epic in its scope and depth.

3-2-1 Contact! Its the reason ....
I can't remember the words.

I loved and still love The Greatest American Hero. Too bad it only had two good seasons then got canceled in the 3rd.

Here's what I remember of it:
"3 - 2 - 1 Contact! It's the reason, it's the moment
that everything happens.
Contact!"

The Wikipedia article does not have the lyrics to the opening theme song.

Here is a clip on YouTube which has the theme in it:

As great as those shows were, I still liked the Saturday and Sunday afternoon cartoons on Nickelodeon back in the day. They had some pretty sweet sci-fi animated movies.

I didn't have cable as a kid so I was stuck with things like Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers- that whole disney afternoon line-up on Fox.
