When I interviewed for a "job" over the phone in December of '05 my client said he was looking for someone who could do 25% or more business travel. I told him flat out that I am not available for excessive business travel and that if it was required then he would be best served in finding someone else. He decides to hire me anyway. Now nearly two years later the client wants me to engage in excessive business travel and I am made to look like a jackass for refusing.
Its not just this that I'm tired of, its businesses in general. All kinds of people seem perfectly happy to apply new terms and conditions on an agreement after it has been settled. But if you try to do the same thing? LITIGATION HELL |

Get them to put it in writing. Then, you can point to the agreement and you won't be wrong.
The problem with "excessive" is that it's a very subjective term. |

Do you have an employment contract or are you at-will? Do you have a written job description?
If you already told him you're not available for travel, I don't see how you're a jackass for it. |
