So in a fit of boredom last night I resurrected an old pc. This has been dumped at my house by my fiancee's parents. I guess since I'm going to be the Alpha Geek in the family that means all old computer junk goes right to me...
Anywho, it turns out this machine is pretty damn sweet for playing DOS games. 486DX2 50Mhz w/32MB RAM CD-ROM and a soundblaster 16. In Middle school I would seriously have killed for this system. I had a 386 at the time and later a 486SL2 (a pale IBM imitation of the DX's...).
Who needs emulation?!
I had a blast playing some Oregon Trail, MOO and Civ I. I downloaded a couple other things to try out later, like Masters of Magic, Elite plus, Alone in the Dark and X-COM. Anything else I should try?
Looks like this weekend I'm gonna party like it's 1992. |

Where did you find a copy of Master of Magic? I have been looking for one for a while. |

You should check out Stuntz. Or maybe it was Stunts. Oldschool PC racing game that my buds were obsessed with in the early 90s. You can make your own tracks. If you get creative you can find some really fun physics bugs.
This should be obligatory: Space Quest, King's Quest, Liesure Suit Larry. Those Sierra games were great. |

I know I already told you this, but 7th guest, 11th hour, MYST/Riven/etc. Settlers aka Serf City, Populous, etc. I'll try to get you the files I can get. I never finished King's Quest VI I believe. The Kyrandia series is a cute one, nothing overly mind blowing though.
Also, I too never finished Leisure Suit Larry. Any of them. Grr! |

The rob is so lucky.
I could always send you the old TSR dungeon and dragons games on floppy. Pools of Radiance, Curse of Azure Bonds, Eye of the Beholder to name a few. There is a clock mod you can get to run it on current PC's, but I have not had the opportunity or desire to try since college. |

Also, if you can get your mitts on them, any of the Wing Commander games (assuming you can get a joystick set up on that computer).
Is that setup fast enough for Tomb Raider 1? |
