... did Summer GO!@?!@#?!@# It's already September! And I only got to the beach ONCE!@)*!)@# AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!! This getting older stuff sucks. Time goes too fast now. The summers of our childhood seemed to drag, now they pass so fast it leaves you spinning. Why can't that bastard groundhog see his shadow tomorrow and give us six more weeks of summer?! *audible sigh* |

I just worked this summer. I have plans to eventually take a summer vacation like when I was a kid, but I don't think I'll be doing that until I'm out of debt. (A projected 2.5 years from now! ) |

For me it's not summer unless I take a trip somewhere. Didn't really do that this summer, so next summer I will have to make up for it in triplicate.
Or plan a winter AND summer trip. |

At this point, Summer means I usually wear polo shirts, traffic is much better without the kids going to school and congress out of session, its harder to visit family accross the bridge in DE, and I sweat to death when outside in the heat. |

I hate to break it to you but the beach blows. After you have experienced 300 meter visiblity and crystal blue water for years and years. The cestpool that is the waters of the east coast are just pathetic. Maybe cause I didn't grow up here I don't understand everyone's fascination with the beach. So what's the big deal anyway? |

For me it's all about the aesthetic, glistening scant clad scenery (especially when you bring your own ) and the beach fries dripping with vinegar. mmm.. *drools*
I'm also quite fond of beach volleyball and getting all sandy making sand sculpture </artist>.
Oh. And sand flea revenge. |

I don't get the fascination with the beach either, but perhaps this is because I lived in Rehoboth Beach for three years. It's not such a big deal to me anymore. |

I'm not down with sand at all. But, going to the beach just is a mental escape, I feel. Everyone there is the mentality of "let it all go". That's what I think of when I think of "going to the beach". I can't imgaine having lived near such gorgeous beaches.. the closest I've come is my 8 days in the bahamas. |

it's all about the ocean... i could sit and listen to the ocean and watch it for days... it is beautiful.
and yes, i have been to jamaica where the water is the color of Aquamarine straight out of the crayola box, but they don't have waves.
there's nothing quite like playing in waves that are several feet above your head. paddling til you get just the right one and then dropping in and riding it to shore.... that is what the ocean is for. |

E, I didn't know you surfed? or are you a sponger? Ever try out that point break in Cape Henlopen State Park? or are you more of a North side IR Inlet kinda girl? I hear the South side Dumps at IR can barrel from time to time as long as you don't mind rocks... |

I'm sure if you hang out around the spots I mentioned you can find a surfer to teach you. Just make sure you have a cute suit and a twinkle in you eye. I'd do it but there's that whole time and space issue... |
