I spent most of this past weekend relaxing with Lynn and we had a very fun time. At the end of last week I stopped in the best buy for a few new DVDs and borrowed the first season of Battlestar Galactica from my good friend Schrag. Lynn and I watched Hellboy together at home, then went to the theater after lunch to see Hellboy II. I really liked the new one, much more than the first. The story, writing and acting were all much better. The creature effects were amazing, as usual, for Del Toro. There were a lot of great moments in it, but still some slight cheesiness like the first.
Saturday night we went to our friend Melanie’s 25th Birthday party, which was a real blast. Aside from some evil people who tried to spike my beer pong cup with liquor, blech!
Friday morning Lynn and I went to the Philly Zoo for a few hours before I put her on the bus back home to NY. I took about 200 pictures, and I put some favorites up on facebook. I’ll get them all on flickr sometime soon, but I’m too close to my monthly limit right now. I got passes from a friend and hope to get a few more to take tig and the boys later this year.
After putting Lynn on the bus I visited Elisa in northeast philly. We had dinner and talked about a bunch of stuff.
Monday night I watched Pan’s Labyrinth, another movie I bought, and enjoyed that, too. I’m not familiar with spanish films at all, but I liked this one a lot. It reminded me a lot of mirrormask, but darker. I watched some Galactica, too.
Finally last night I had dinner with my brother and he gave me two awesome belated birthday presents. We watched some baseball all-star coverage together. I watched the game when I got home, but it was still tied when I went to sleep.
