Birthdays and Moving and Whatnot

Today is my birthday!  It’s also Sarah’s birthday!  Because we are the two coolest twin-moms with the same birthday around.

Joe made me a wonderful present, but it seems he left it in South Carolina when he moved out.  After almost two weeks of searching, he finally just told me what it was.  He’s still deciding whether or not to make another one, but he won’t have it done by the end of today.  My suggestion of visiting the huge jewelry store down the street was met with a furrowed brow.

He did sweetly wish me a happy birthday at 7am before he went to work.

Besides that, we moved last week.  We are getting settled in, finding places for a lot of stuff.  And by “place for a lot of stuff” I mean “Joe’s stuff is stacked neatly in the garage.”  It appears to me he has about 15 totes full of tools, random electronics and green t-shirts.   The good news is he fixes stuff.   Random stuff, stuff that you don’t even know needs to be fixed.  He also wears a uniform.

Joe’s first day of his new job, he had to report in one of the dressier uniforms.  Not the super fancy blue one you see on TV, but similar just an ugly shade of green.  He came downstairs in his fancy get-up to where the boys were happily eating their breakfast.  Alex looked up at him and said “Joe, why are you wearing your airplane pilot costume?”  I wanted to take a picture but he wasn’t cooperating.   Besides that, the new job seems to be going well enough.  They are already planning on sending him to Texas and Virginia next year, and we have discussed what will happen after this assignment is over.

Moving was fun.  (Not.)  It all got done which is the best I can say about it.  The boys seem to like their new digs, they like having a bedroom upstairs.  We also have a nice little fenced in back yard for them to run around in.

I don’t really have any funny stories this morning.  Maybe next week.

  • Dude, I am so going to try that “I made you something and now it’s lost so let me just tell you about it” trick myself.

“I made you a gazebo for the backyard like you always wanted, but now I can’t find it.”

    Awesome.

    Oh, and Happy Birthday.

  • A belated Happy Birthday to you! Hope things are going well in Maryland, but don’t forget you have folks on the civilized side of the bay that want to see you guys once in awhile.

Let me be among the first to say Merry Christmas!

  • Happy Belated Birthday even though I was there in person and had some of your lovely birthday cake :)

Also, you should’ve waited until later when you could’ve posted our soda discussion, where I called you a slut, broke that poor 16 year old cashier’s mind, and then we talked about naughty things at the car and probably made that other guy we didn’t notice’s day/month/year/life!
